Punching Bag Comedy is an independent comedy production company started in 2018 by Damon Millard. The concept behind PBC is simple: the gatekeepers, and the trend-makers have consistently been getting it wrong for a very long time. When image is more important than substance and real comedy talent is often overlooked for tik-tok and instagram followings there is still one place doing it right, that’s Punching Bag. A bastion to what comedy can and should be, Punching Bag Comedy provides a stage to underappreciated talent. We are comedians producing our own shows with no rules other than funny first. We have been told NO more times than our experience and talent would have you believe and we keep bouncing back. We get punched and we bounce back and back and back and back again. We keep writing our jokes and making crowds roar and we’re not doing it to be famous or rich or anything (sure it’d be nice) but we don’t care about that…your laughter is all we want.
PBC’s flagship show is at our in The Comedy Room located inside O’Keefe’s Bar in Brooklyn. THE PUNCHING BAG, a weekly stand-up show AKA “Stand-up Comedy Dexluxe” takes place every Wednesday Night at 8pm and highlights some of the best established and rising stars in stand-up comedy. We often have surprise drop-in guests that you wouldn’t believe you’d see at a local bar, who because of Punching Bag’s reputation and dedication sometimes like to stop by to do a set for our awesome crowds. We are a hidden gem in the Brooklyn Heights Neighborhood, and to the thrill and excitement of those who risked walking up the stairs to check out “..that little comedy show”, we never disappoint and turn them into returning regulars who want to be this close to heartbeat of REAL STAND-UP COMEDY .
